These are the rules you agree to when you use tdar. They are written in plain words. If a word has a special meaning, the next sentence says what it means.
A second page, our privacy notice, says what tdar collects about you and why. A third page, our child safety standards, says what we do to keep children off tdar. Read all three.
When these rules say "we", they mean tdar. When they say "you", they mean the person using it.

tdar is made and run by NiForge Works. Write to us at
support@tdar.app.
You must be 18 or older. There is no younger version of tdar. If you are under 18, you may not use tdar, and you may not make an account for somebody else who is under 18.
We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. Our servers refuse to create or change an account with a date of birth under 18. It is not only the app on your phone that checks.
If you give a false date of birth, we will remove your account.
You also need a working phone number. Your number is how you sign in. tdar has no password.
One person, one account. Do not make a second account while your first one is removed or suspended.
Your account is yours and only yours. Do not let anybody else use it, and do not use anybody else's.
Everything you put on tdar has to be true and has to be about you. Your photos have to be of you. Your name has to be the name people know you by. Your facts have to be your facts.
If you lose access to your number, you can add an email address so you can get back in. That is the only thing we use the address for. It is never shown to anybody.
Keep your phone safe. Anybody with your phone and your number can sign in as
you. If you lose your phone, tell us at support@tdar.app and we will close the
account until you have your number back.not built · NB-29, nothing can close or suspend an account
tdar is for people who want a serious relationship. It is a small hand-picked deck each morning, not an endless feed.
tdar is not a hookup app. It is not for casual sex, it is not for sex work, and it is not for selling anything. Use it for what it is for.
We introduce people. We do not check that anybody is who they say they are, beyond the selfie check, and the selfie check only compares a face to the photos on the same card. We do not run background checks. We do not check whether somebody is married, single, or telling the truth about anything.
These are the things that get an account removed. This list is not a puzzle. If you have to ask whether something is on it, it probably is.
You cannot delete a message on tdar. Not one you sent, and not one you received. Once a message is sent it stays in the chat for both of you.
We built it that way on purpose. A message that can be taken back is a message that cannot be reported, and this app arranges real meetings. Send what you would be willing to have read back to you.
You can remove a person at any time. That closes the chat and neither of you can write into it again. What was already said stays where it was said.
Deleting your account is a different thing and it does exist. See section 10.
You can remove anybody, at any time, for any reason or none. Open their card or your chat and choose to remove them. They disappear from your sky, your deck and your chats, and you disappear from theirs. Neither of you can write to the other again. It works at once and needs nobody's permission.
You can also report them. Choose to report them at the same time, and say which reason fits. You can let us read your last messages with them, and we only read them if you say yes.not built · NB-04
What we do with a report.not built · NB-01 A person on our team reads every report. We read reports about a child, and reports that somebody is in danger right now, within 24 hours, before anything else in the queue. We read every other report within 7 days.
We look at the account, the messages you shared with us, and what the person has done before. Then we do one of these things: nothing, because the report does not break section 4; a warning; we take down the picture, the words or the profile that broke the rules; we stop the account for a time; we remove the account for good.
We tell you what we decided, and we tell the reported person what we decided about them and why. If telling somebody would put a person in danger, we do not tell them.not built · NB-02
We may remove an account while we look, not only after. We do that when a report is about a child or about somebody being hurt.
You can disagree with what we decided. See section 16.
Do not send us a false report. Reporting somebody to punish them is itself a reason we remove an account.
Removing somebody works today and takes effect at once. What happens after a report does not: the reason you pick is written onto the block document and nothing reads it, /reports has no writer anywhere in the app or the backend, and none of the five reasons the app offers names a child. This section describes the standard tdar intends to meet, not a process that runs today. Row 552.
What you write and what you upload stays yours. We do not own it.
To run tdar we need your permission to handle it, so you give us a licence. That licence is free of charge, it works anywhere, and we can pass it to the companies that store and carry tdar for us. Its limits are these, and they are the whole of it:
If you take something down, the licence for that thing ends when the thing is gone from our servers.
Do not post anything you do not have the right to post. If a photo is not yours to use, do not upload it.
We may remove anything that breaks section 4, and we do not have to tell you first. We tell you afterwards, unless telling you would put somebody in danger.not built · NB-02
If somebody uses your work on tdar without your permission, write to
support@tdar.app and tell us what it is, where it is, and that you own it. We
will take it down if you are right.not built · NB-29, no takedown tool exists
tdar is provided as it is. We work hard on it and we do not promise it is perfect.
We do not promise you will meet anybody. We do not promise a deck every day, a reply to a note, or a date. Nobody can promise that.
We do not promise tdar is always available. We may need to stop it, change it, or take part of it away.
We do not promise anybody on tdar is telling the truth. See section 3.
tdar helps you arrange to meet. The meeting itself is between you and the other person. We are not there.
Meet in a public place the first time. Tell somebody where you are going. Do not send money to somebody you met here. Do not let somebody you have not met pressure you.
If somebody hurts you, frightens you, or breaks the law, tell the police. Report them to us too, so we can remove them from tdar. See section 5.
We do not check anybody's background and we cannot keep you safe on a date.
When tdar suggests a place to meet, no venue has paid to be there. No venue ever can. A place on that list is a place we think is good, and nothing else.checked · the money rules, "the venue catalog is never for sale"
Some things on tdar cost money. Seeing more of who is looking at you, sending a first word, and a few others.
The parts of tdar that make it a dating app are free and always will be. The deck, notes, sparks, chats, plans and every safety tool cost nothing. We sell sight and speed. We never sell people, and we never sell a bigger deck.
We never ask for a card number, a bank account number or a mobile money PIN. There is no field anywhere in tdar that asks for one. If something claiming to be tdar asks you for one, it is not us.
The price you see is the price you pay. If the price has changed since your screen was drawn, the payment fails and nothing is taken. One tap is one charge, even if your connection drops and you tap again.
What you buy goes into your wallet as a number of uses, or as a length of time. You can see your wallet and every receipt in the app.
What you buy does not expire while your account is open, unless the thing you bought is a length of time, and then it runs for that length of time. We may change our prices; a change never touches something you have already bought.

You can leave at any time. Open tdar, go to Settings, tap Delete account. It starts straight away. You can also ask us from the web, without the app.
Our privacy notice says exactly what is erased and what stays. The short version: your profile, your photos, your voice line and your selfie go. The messages you sent stay in the other person's chat, because they wrote half of that conversation and their side is not yours to erase. Your name and your photo come off it. Nobody can write to you again.
We can remove your account too. We will do it if you break section 4, if we believe you are under 18, or if we believe you are putting somebody in danger. We will usually tell you. We will not tell you first if telling you would put somebody at risk.
If somebody blocked you, that block stays after you leave. If you sign up again on the same number, their block finds you again.
If we remove your account, do not come back on a new number. A new account made to get around a removal is removed too.
We may stop tdar. If we do, we will tell you at least 30 days before, so you can take what you want with you.not built · NB-16
We may change these rules. If we do, we will change the date at the top. If the change matters, we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you can leave if you do not agree.not built · NB-14
If you keep using tdar after a change takes effect, that is your agreement to it. A change never applies to something that already happened.
There is no way to tell anybody in the app today. The sign-in door draws this page's link once, and a signed-in person never sees it again. Until that changes, the date at the top is how you can see that these rules changed.checked · door_screen.dart:11,152-159
We are responsible for running tdar honestly and carefully, and for the harm we cause by failing to.
Some things we never limit and never exclude. If somebody dies or is hurt because we were careless, if we lie to you, or if the law says a responsibility cannot be signed away, then nothing in these rules limits what we owe. This paragraph beats every other paragraph in this section.
We are not responsible for what another person does, on tdar or after you meet them. We do not control them, we did not vouch for them, and we are not part of your meeting.
We are not responsible for what somebody puts on tdar. We take down what breaks section 4 when we find it or when you tell us.
We are not responsible for things outside our control, like your phone, your network, a power cut, or a company we depend on going down.
For everything else, there is a limit. If we owe you money because we got something wrong, the most we owe is whichever is larger: what you paid tdar in the 12 months before it happened, or 5,000 birr.
We do not owe you for indirect losses, like money you did not make, a chance you missed, or a relationship that did not happen.
You are responsible for what you do on tdar. If you break section 4 or break the law and that costs us money, you cover it.
Every number and carve-out above is a drafted proposal, not a ruled fact. The 5,000 birr floor exists because a cap of "what you paid" is nothing at all for a free user. Whether any of this is enforceable against a consumer in Ethiopia is unconfirmed against local law.
These rules are governed by the law of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
If we disagree and cannot settle it between us, the courts of Addis Ababa decide.
If you live somewhere else, this does not take away a right your own law gives you and does not let you sign away. You can also go to the courts where you live if your law says so.
Talk to us first. Write to support@tdar.app and give us
30 days to put it right. Most things end there.
If a court decides one of these rules does not hold, the rest still hold. These rules, our privacy notice and our child safety standards are the whole agreement between you and us about tdar.
You cannot pass this agreement to somebody else. We can pass it to a company that takes over tdar, and we will tell you if that happens.
Whether a consumer can be bound to a forum, and whether Ethiopia's Personal Data Protection Proclamation gives a route that overrides anything above, is unconfirmed.

There is no moderation surface today, so there is nothing to appeal to. This section is the standard tdar intends to meet: a stated reason, a free internal complaint route open for six months, and a decision by a qualified person rather than solely a machine. It must not publish before section 5 has a reader.
A lawyer has not read this page yet. When one has, some words here will change, and the date at the top changes with them. Back to the short version.
